EDITING WORKSHOP – LEARN HOW TO EDIT A SHORT DOCUMENTARY FILM
This workshop is Module 2 of the Documentary Film Workshop, but it can also be taken as a standalone workshop. No previous participation in Module 1 is required.
You will learn how to turn raw footage into a short, engaging documentary-style film, using professional editing techniques and DaVinci Resolve, a professional editing software with a powerful free version.
Working with footage provided by the trainer, you will learn how to select and organise material, build a story, edit interviews and B-roll, create rhythm and structure, work with sound and music, and finish your film for delivery.
The workshop is designed for communication professionals, journalists, project managers, artists, students, and anyone working with video who wants to develop practical editing skills and learn how to create their own short documentary-style films.
No previous editing experience is required.
We work only in small groups – a maximum of 6 – 8 people!
What You Will Learn

• Work with sound, music, and silence

• Adjust basic color and visual balance
• Add titles if needed
• Receive detailed feedback
By the end of the module, you will have a completed short documentary edit and a clear understanding of the post-production workflow.

Why This Workshop?
After 15 years of experience in filmmaking, video editing, and teaching diverse groups, I decided to create small-group workshops that focus as much as possible on practical exercises. The goal is that, after the workshop, you’ll have enough knowledge and confidence to start creating on your own.
It’s serious, it’s fun, and it takes place in a welcoming, home-like atmosphere — with good food included.
